Mondays have become my new Saturday. Our weekends before were like anyone elses...saturday I try to sleep in but Foster won't let me and the rest of the day is kind of piddled away doing random things. Sunday I wake up earlier than anyother day of the week so I can prepare lunch in the crock-pot and get ready for church. This has always seemed odd to me that I get up earlier on sunday..the day of rest...than any other day, but that is how it goes. Sunday I get to church around 9:20 and leave about 12:20. Come home, eat lunch, take a nap and go back to church. And then Monday rolls around and Jeremy and I are exhausted. He use to take Fridays off, but that wasn't working very well, so recently he has started taking Mondays off and that is why our Mondays have become the new Saturday.
The past two Mondays we have woken up late, I have cooked breakfast, and we kind of rest. Now this may seem odd and all, but I it is the rest that we need. Even though I take a nap on Sundays, it is still a mentally tiring day. So, since our Mondays are our new Saturdays, our Saturdays must be used for something...right?
This past Saturday we spent all day doing yard work. Good back breaking yard work. Jeremy mowed the lawn and all that that entails, while I picked up lava rocks in our backyard. There is a section in the backyard that doesn't get much sunlight, so the previous ownders decided to fill it with these red lava rocks, which I very much dislike. So saturday was a beautiful day and I thought I should seize the opportunity and start work. It was a bigger job than I had anticipated...isn't that how they all are?! but after about 5 hours working on them, they have all been moved. YAH!!!
My plan is to put bark in its place and grow some grass in another area and try to fix up the backyard. So after working that long doing back breaking work, Jeremy and I are still a little sore to be honest. I guess that it is why I am glad our Mondays are the new Saturdays.
